branch hill estate
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Branch Hill Estate is one of the many Brutalist housing projects located in the United Kingdom. The complex consists of 21 pairs of two-storey semi-detached houses with biaxial pathways in between. Each of the units terrace down a sloped landscape creating an overlap condition in which the public garden of the unit above becomes the roof of the one below, thus blurring the boundaries between public and private. The estate remains a successful Brutalist housing project to this day with its strategic sectional schemes and community spaces.
